Obviously, a great way to get backlinks is by just simply writing articles and submitting them to article directories.  You can submit articles to the sites below.  They are ranked from the most effective to the least effective.  If you want to save yourself some time, you can use Mass Article Control, and submit to most of these sites automatically.  It's a big time saver!
