30 Day IM Newbie Plan – (Day 17) Video Marketing
On this day, I am going to lightly touch on video marketing. I know video marketing may sound a little intimidating, but there are a lot of different ways to do it.
The most obvious way is if you already have a camcorder.
Write yourself a little script, it can just be an article that you wrote on your niche. Just come up with some bulletpoints, mention the product you are promoting on your site, etc…
If you don’t have a camcorder, you can use your webcam if you have one.
It doesn’t have to be very long. It can be 3 or 4 minutes. It’s just a little teaser. Don't overthink it. You are not Steven Spielberg. You don't have to come up with anything groundbreaking.
If you don’t have either a camcorder or a webcam, then there are other options as well.
You can use video capture software to record video on your computer. All you have do in this case, is record your website, and talk over it as your recording it. You can use the same script you would have used if you have a camcorder or webcam.
What video capture software can you use?

Well….without question, the best video capture software that most internet marketers use is Camtasia.
It is very pricey. It costs $299 but the quality is unmatched. The editing capabilities are incredible. If you can afford it, it’s well worth the investment.

Jing has a free video capture software. The quality is really good. The only problem is that you can’t edit the video, and it has a 5 minute time limit on each video you make.

Camstudio is another free option. You can’t edit the software, and the video quality isn’t the greatest but there is no time limit on it.
If you want to try even a different option, there is a great program called Animoto.
The concept behind the program is that you have slides of the product you are promoting. Each slide is going to have an image with text on it. You upload your slides in Animoto, you click the create button, and bam! you’ve got a video. A very flashy one as well.
Either way, you’ve got a lot of different options to choose from.
Alright…..you’ve got your videos. Where are you going to place them?
Well……the obvious place to start with YouTube.
I’m sure you already know about YouTube. How could you not? Great grandmothers know about YouTube. It’s simply a great way to bring traffic to your site.
Last I heard, YouTube gets approximately 72 million visitors every month. That makes it the 4th most visited site on the internet.
Here are some tips that you can use to make your video seen by more people and get more clicks to your site.
First of all, make sure to put your website URL at the beginning of the video description, that way when somebody looks at your video and then looks at the description, there will be a clickable link to your website.
Use one of your keywords as the title of your video, and add then something a little catchy to your title. That way, you’ll have the keyword for SEO purposes and you’ll have something catchy that will make a YouTube user want click the link for the video.
Try to make friends with other youtube members. It’s important to gain subscribers. Go to other videos that are on your same niche and subscribe to them. They might recipricate the favor and sign up for your videos.
Also make sure to choose the best channel and category for your particular niche videos.
A couple of simple ways to get traffic is to social bookmark the video. You can also email some of your friends about the video. Make sure to tell them to comment and rate the video.
If you want to mass submit your videos to the top video sites, you can also get a free account with Tube Mogul. You can upload your video to dozens of sites at the click of a button.
